A wonderful first week back...and lunches
Firstly, I would like to offer my sincere thanks for sharing with me how happily your children have settled back into school. We are extremely ambitious in what we can achieve for the year ahead, and with the children working as hard as they are, and being as lovely as they have been, nothing is going to stand in our way!
Just a quick word about packed lunches, for those of you whose children bring these in, and about lunchtime supervisors' roles. We just have a few requests about lunches that we feel will make lunchtimes run even more smoothly.
> Please remember that we are a nut-free school. We have quite a few children and staff with severe nut allergies, so we do ask that you don't send these in with lunches.
> Whilst we do not flatly ban any specific foods, (due to pupils with specific diets, or conditions around eating) please ensure lunches are broadly healthy in content. See below for ideas...
> For younger children, if you pack grapes, please could you ensure these are cut lengthways to avoid the risk of choking?
> Please ensure you send food your child likes and will eat. The lunch staff who work with our youngest children (nursery) in particular will gently encourage them to eat as they can get easily distracted chatting with their friends, and they wouldn't want to encourage children to eat food they didn't like!
As always, if you have any concerns with regards your child's eating, or any queries, please do get in touch with their teacher and we can support as much as necessary.
