Announcement: Our School Vision
Dear Parents/Carers,
You may recall last Summer that we intended to refresh our Church of England School Vision, as we felt it did not fully showcase who we are, what we are about, and what we do.
Over a five week period, all children in school contributed to the creation of this, through discussions linked to the following areas:
- Dignity and respect: Everyone matters, God loves us all no matter how small.
- Community and Living Well Together: We all need each other. Wellbeing.
- Hope and Aspiration: Love and forgiveness are always there. New start for all. We can aim high. Be the best we can be.
- Wisdom, Knowledge and Skills: Never give up on learning. Using knowledge well – ethics as well as wisdom.
- God who connects/underpins the other four.
The level of insight from children in all year groups was astounding (and very heartening to read such thoughtful and warm observations about our school). Mrs Lewis and I collated these thoughts over Summer, and we observed some common themes:
Loving God through our values.
Respect
Being loved and valued for being you.
Never giving up
Self-belief
Working hard to have a good future/understanding of their own potential One Family
Prayer connects us to God
Taking or Values with us beyond school
Learning from our mistakes
Seizing Opportunities
Helping others
With these themes as our inspiration, we are pleased to share our new Vision, which will soon appear on our website, and around school:
We aim to nurture a safe, loving and inclusive environment where every child is valued and celebrated as an individual. We encourage children to develop self-belief, resilience a compassionate heart. By instilling our Christian Values, we empower children to love others, persevere through challenges, and carry their principles into their adult lives, making a positive impact on the world.
“We love because God first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
This week, staff will be sharing this with their classes, unpicking the meaning, and gaining children's feedback. This has been really well-received by staff and Governors, and we hope you find it as inspirational as we do.
Best wishes,
Mrs E Fussell
