Attendance and Punctuality
Dear Parents / Carers,
We hope your children are continuing to come home talking with enthusiasm about their days.
This is just a quick reminder about the importance of regular attendance, and a couple of important documents for your information.
You may have noticed the office staff querying your child's absence more than usual. This is not at all because we do not believe your child is ill, but because we want to reassure you that there are many circumstances we are happy to have your child in school, even if they are a little under the weather. We can always make sensible adjustments to support them, e,g. keeping them in at break, seating them next to a radiator, etc.
HERE is the Little Orange Book - an extremely handy document that guides parents in when children should be kept home and when they can go to school.
Please note also, we do not allow term time holidays. Leave of absence will only be permitted in exceptional circumstances. A leave of absence must be requested from the Headteacher two weeks before the planned absence, using the form below, which is available from the office.
Our full attendance policy can be read below or in the Policies section of our website.
If you have any queries, please do get in contact. We recognise that there are times when children are simply not well enough to be in school, but as a school and a Trust, we know that children stand their best chance of achieving their potential when they are in school every day on time.
Kind regards,
Miss E Wilson
Headteacher
