Extreme Weather

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we are aware, it is going to be very hot tomorrow and likely the rest of the week. 

As well as the usual reminders about sun cream, hats and water bottles, I just wanted to share plans for mitigating against this weather. 

Staff will actively encourage children to engage in calmer activities at break and lunch time. At lunchtime, we are allowing the lunch hall to be in use for colouring and reading with a film on, so that anyone who would prefer not to be outside does not have to be. 

All staff will be particularly vigilant for children who are really struggling with the heat, particularly in terms of nausea, dizziness, rashes, etc. We will support by providing plenty of cool water and shade, but we may contact parents if a child appears particularly unwell.
