Library Project - Update!
As you know, we have been working to convert a disused classroom this year into a bright, modern library for every child in school to use.
The library project is heading into its final and most exciting stages. Last week, the wonderful wall wraps were put up and this week most of the furniture has finally arrived. (If you remember, our excellent PTFA have kindly funded this furniture, allowing us to buy good quality pieces that will last.)
This weekend, a group of us will be assembling these pieces and then the fun can start. With the help of the librarians, we will start the organisation of our library. We have enlisted the support of a library software company, who are going to catalogue our books for us and issue every pupil with a library card.
Over Summer, the finishing touches will be added and we hope to be up and running before the children return in September.
Excitingly, we are delighted to share that renowned children's author Jane Elson has agreed to officially open the library.
In September, all parents will be invited to Stay and Read sessions with their children so that you can see our wonderful new facility.
In the mean time, we continue to gratefully receive any books you no longer require. If you have any books to donate, the office will gladly accept them, or arrange collection.
