Reps for Rare!

Dear Parents, 

Last year in school, we celebrated Rare Disease Day for the first time. One of our year 6 pupils asked if we could do this to give him the opportunity to raise awareness about a condition he has called Icthyosis.

This was such a success, with pupils creating an individual pledge to support friends with differences and conditions, which we displayed in the hall. 

Since then, an international charity has been set up to raise funds for research into this condition and Mrs Cat Lancashire, our year six pupil's mum, is one of the founders. Together, they are hoping to raise £300,000 which will allow much-needed research to take place. 

On February 29th, we are inviting children to come to school dressed in colourful, sporty clothes. This is because we are going to take part in Reps for Rare, an ambition across several schools to complete 300,000 reps to raise money for the charity. 

On this day, volunteers will have change buckets on he gate at the start and end of the day, and voluntary donations are gratefully received.
