Road Closure on Furlong Lane

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are aware that next week, Furlong Lane is due to be closed on 4th and 5th December (next Monday and Tuesday.) This will inevitably cause difficulties with access to school.

We have spoken to the County Council who shared that school will be accessible via Wellfield Road, but not Fox Lane. This will be from 8am on Monday. This means that all school traffic will be attempting to come and leave from one single entrance, and this will quickly become clogged and potentially unsafe. 

With this in mind, we are strongly suggesting that, where at all possible, you walk to school on those two days. If this is not possible, please be mindful that it will be a busy morning and consideration needs to be given to children's safety, and also the possibility of emergency service vehicles needing access.

On these two days, we will allow children to come to school from 8:20am to reduce possible congestion. If you would like to bring your child in through the office from that time, they will be looked after in school until the normal start time.
