Sponsored marathon - thank you!
We would like to say a HUGE well done to our wonderful pupils for their recent participation in the Sponsored Marathons event - our attempt to run seven marathons!
It seems we drastically under-estimated what our pupils are capable of as even before years 5 and 6 began, we had collectively run 8.5 marathons!
Years 5 and 6 then added to the morning's total, taking the total number of laps completed to 1,733, which is 433 miles or 16.5 marathons!
The total laps run were as follows:
Nursey and Pre-Nursery 72 laps
Reception 135 laps
Y1 65 laps
Y2 196 laps
Y3 272 laps
Y4 177 laps
Y5 404 laps
Y6 412 laps
We are tremendously grateful to the children for their efforts and to all parents and caregivers who generously made donations which will ultimately benefit two very worthy causes, (Cancer Research UK and the NSPCC) as well as the share for JTMAT which we can bid for for our own school improvements.
The total sponsorship money raised currently stands at an incredible £1,572.20.
