Take a look at our academic data 2021-22...
Dear Parents/Carers,
Today I am publishing our academic data from 2021-22 as most of the national data headlines have now been published, which allows us to compare our performance with other schools in the UK. I have included a little commentary below.
*In terms of Early Years, national data for GLD (Good Level of Development) will be published in November. While our percentage of "achieved" may seem low, I feel this will be very much in line with the national picture, as this cohort have had a very disrupted start to their education due to Covid. However, we also have to acknowledge that given our EYFS grading from OFSTED, this may have impacted on our data.
*Our Key Stage 1 data is very pleasing in comparison with the national picture. This data was externally validated, therefore I have confidence in its accuracy.
*Our Key Stage 2 data is equally pleasing. You will notice that Maths is our only subject that does not stand up against the national picture. This is being addressed through the subject being a key priority on this year's school development plan. (Available in Latest News.)
I am happy with this data and feel it really does stand up well against national scores. You could argue that "somewhere like Alrewas" should be achieving scores like this, and I agree to an extent. There is always room for improvement and further scrutiny of the data will enable me to do this.
Finally, a significant amount of credit for this data must go to all of you parents who endured the tricky business of online educating during lockdown. This input from you has enabled teachers to pick learning back up and move forward quickly. Many children in the UK encountered little or no education during lockdown, so your work during this period is much appreciated.
I hope you have a lovely weekend and if you would like to talk about any aspect of this, please do get in touch.
Miss E Wilson.
