The Roving Bookshop is Coming to Alrewas!
Next week, on Wednesday 23rd November, we are to be visited by the Roving Bookshop!
The bookshop will be set up in the school hall early in the morning and from 8:15, you will be able to come in and explore the wonderful books they are selling. During the day, each class will get an opportunity to visit the bookshop. It will also remain open after school until 4pm if you would like to visit then.
Tonight, your child will bring home an information leaflet about the bookshop and a paper wallet. There is a section on the leaflet for parents to write their child's name and sign, and this can be returned on or before Wednesday morning for a chance for your child to win a book of their choosing from the book shop.
The wallet is for you to send in your child with money on Wednesday (if you choose) to spend at the bookshop. Any change will be returned to you in this envelope. Envelopes will be collected first thing on Wednesday morning by teachers to ensure they do not get lost! There is a price guide on the envelope to advise you on how much you might choose to send.
The Roving Bookshop does not sell stationery items and similar bits - simply books and educational posters.
The school also receives a generous commission on books sold, which will allow us to top up our book supply in school. I met School Council last half term who had all been given the opportunity to ask their classmates which authors they would like to see more of in school. This will help us select books we know will be well-loved.
If you have any queries about the bookshop, please do get in touch.
