We made it...!

Dear Parents/Families,

The spring in everyone's step as they came into school this morning was noticeable - staff AND pupils!

There isn't really a word to describe this first full year of Headship here at All Saints. There have been things going on in school that have filled me with pride, and also things that have clearly needed to change.  Whilst I am fully aware we still have a significant amount of work to get us where we need (and deserve) to be, we are ready to hit the ground running in September.

What is crystal clear for me is that the behaviours and attitudes our children display remain the central strength of our school. Alongside this, the support shown from you parents and the investment in your children's progress and development have been very much appreciated.

Moving Forward...

> We are pleased to share that our conversion to John Taylor MAT is on track to take place on 1st September, providing all necessary agreements are finalised between the LA, the MAT and Secretary of State. I will once again draw your attention to the JTMAT policies by which we will be bound next year Policies – John Taylor Multi-Academy Trust (jtmat.co.uk) Please do note, in particular, the new policy for Attendance, which we will be adopting to support and improve our whole school attendance, and reduce persistent absence.

> We feel strongly that proper planning will result in a much more co-ordinated and organised year for everyone. We have therefore planned in key dates for next year in order that we can publish a full calendar for you over Summer, giving you more notice to attend school events.

> We are excited to share that Modern Foreign Languages will be taught with greater consistency across KS2 next year, and that from September, all children in Key Stage 2 will learn Spanish on a weekly basis!

> A significant change for us as a school is of course the departure of Mrs McCarthy, of which you are already aware. I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Rachael, and wish her the best of luck. She has been a great deputy and friend this year and we will miss her personality hugely. I also wish Mr Gibbs and Mrs Ridley the very best of luck in their new roles as Assistant Heads. Having three leaders driving forward standards and excellence will make a huge difference!

> Mr Redfern has recently decided to move on from All Saints. We would like to thank him for his hard work and contributions to the school during his time here and wish him all the best for the future.

> We are going to be improving our offer of clubs and extra-curricular activities. You will see on another post on Latest News that we are kicking off Autumn Term with some fab fitness-based clubs and we will quickly add to this offer with teachers running clubs both at lunchtimes and after school.

There will be communications added to Latest News toward the end of the Summer holiday, but for now we wish the happiest of Summers and thank you for the kind words and gestures over the course of this year.

With Best Wishes,

Miss E Wilson
