Whitemoor Lakes - how are year 4 getting on?
"May will be fine - the weather will have picked up by then, it'll be gorgeous!"
These are the words I told myself as I booked year four's residential a few months ago. Yesterday lunchtime, I stared out the window at the torrential rain and felt very guilty...
Mrs Lewis will of course be sharing more details of how the residential has gone, but just a quick update to parents from my own perspective.
I arrived early evening last night just as the children were about to begin their evening challenge, which was building a contraption that would prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from a height. Children worked fantastically in teams, first of all deciding on egg names (Beyonc-egg!!) and then using limited resources to create their devices.
We adults were blown away by the way children worked in complete co-operation and it was a highly enjoyable evening. Sadly, although Beyonc-egg survived the drop, several others were not so lucky!
At bed time, children went to bed very sensibly and remarkably, as soon as lights went out the whispering stopped! I can only assume they were exhausted from climbing ropes and building buggies.
I'm sure you're looking forward to picking your children up and hearing what a lovely time they've had, but I would like to congratulate every last one of them for being an absolutely delightful year group to take away!
With best wishes,
Miss E Wilson
