World Book Day 2026

Dear Parents/ Carers, 

On Thursday 5th March, it is World Book Day. As always, we will be dedicating a full day to Reading, and the enjoyment of books and stories with activities including reading buddies, illustration, and trying our own hands at being authors. 

This year, our whole school text has a distinctive colour theme, so we are suggesting that in place of a costume, each class takes a colour and dresses around that. The colours for each class are as follows:

Nursery: Rainbows!

Reception: Purple

Year 1: Red

Year 2: Pink

Year 3: Orange

Year 4: Yellow

Year 5: Green

Year 6: Blue

Children can keep it simple, with just a coloured top, or can be as creative as they choose - glitter, face paints, hairspray - these are all welcome! We hope that we will be able to take some really visually striking photos of a memorable day. 

Please note, if you have already purchased a costume and your child wishes to wear this instead, this is absolutely fine. Regardless, the day will be a whole school celebration of reading and imagination!
