World Book Day
Dear Parents,
On behalf of all the staff, we wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for your support in giving our children a fantastic World Book Day. It was so lovely to see the children's excitement about their costumes and hear them explain why they had chosen to be who they were.
In the morning, all classes read Don't Look in This Book by Samuel Langley-Swain, which then inspired them to write and illustrate their own fantasy settings.
In the afternoon, classes buddied up for some highly enjoyable peer reading, which was truly lovely and both little ones and big ones had a great time! This is something we will be doing again without a doubt!
We also had a teacher swap with teachers venturing into different classes to share an excerpt from their own favourite books.
Finally, we held a whole school assembly and shared our highlights of the day. Prize winners were announced for costumes and toilet tube characters. (If your child was a winner, they will receive their prize of a £10 voucher in celebration assembly today.)
We hope your child enjoyed the day as much as we did, and thank you once again for your support.
