This week, a parent has kindly shared information with us about a scheme called Access Cards. These are are simple card that can be applied for by, or on behalf of, someone who lives with a disability.

This card shows in a clear and simple way, the reasonable adjustments that can be made by people and organisations, to assist the cardholder. 

We know from talking to parents of children with Autism Spectrum Conditions, for example, that lengthy queuing in busy spaces can prove problematic and overwhelming. 

Similarly, children with physical difficulties may also struggle in crowds or queues. 

The Access Card may be worth taking a look at. It is becoming increasingly recognised by businesses, venues and organisations, particularly as understanding of Additional Needs/Disability grows.
